A Trio of Butterfly Projects

Let's dive into some really fun Spring projects today with a trio of butterfly creations.  Enjoy!

I made a card, a gift box and a gift bag.  If you have a special someone who would love some beautiful gift packaging with a coordinating card, this is it.

By the way, our butterfly papers are all sold out, but if you still have some, please note that I die cut the butterflies for all 3 projects from just one sheet.

I actually made several versions of butterfly cards, so be sure to check back to see those, too.

Sand and Sea Card with Lots of Texture

Today's card has one of my most favorite themes in this whole, wide world - seashells -- on the beach!  I love walking along the beach at the edge of where the waves meet the sand.  It's my time to commune with God.

Today's card has waves, a bit of sandy beach and a grouping of seashells.  There's also a bit of silvery glimmer but I don't know if it shows up in the photo well enough to tell what it is.  When our Holiday Mini Catalog was live, I stumbled upon the goodness of our Metallic Mesh Ribbon.  It was actually featured in with the Magic in This Night Suite - for Halloween.  As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be good for adding to any project where you needed a bit of sparkle.  I did a little bit of hoarding at that point:). I used a bit of this shimmery goodness to slip behind my seashells today.  It adds texture and a bit sparkle.

The background is embossed DSP (Seabed 3D Embossing Folder) and torn at an angle, to look like waves breaking on the sandy beach.  I attached the embossed piece to the 'sandy' piece of DSP and cut it the size I wanted for my card front before attaching it to the card base (Misty Moonlight).  The seashells are actually cut from the DSP and than attached with dimensionals.  It's a pretty card and I like it a lot.  Of course, as a beach lover, I'm a bit biased in my opinion:)

As always, I like to decorate the envelope flap and the inside of the card.  Here are a couple of variations.

Scrunch up your eyes and look very closely and you can see the shimmer of the metallic ribbon.

Here's a shot of my beloved beach area.

Beautiful Card with Blues and Texture

I love this card I'm sharing today.  It has beautiful blues and lots of texture, along with one of my favorite texts.

Remember when we cut the papers for one of my hydrangea cards?  I used the blue pieces from the middle of each sheet as layers for today's card.

I cut these papers and saved the middle pieces, knowing I'd use them for this card.  I actually had the design for today's card already in my head before I made the card below.

With this cut, you can get 6 card fronts from one sheet of DSP.

Now, back to today's card.

I cut 2 layers for the card front, reducing each layer by 1/4" on top and side.  I embossed the very top layer, to add lots of texture, popped it up on dimensionals and then ran my fingernail along the edges, to rough it up just a tiny bit.
The stitched vellum piece adds even more texture.
The flowers are actually 3 groups of flowers cut from some of the Hydrangea Hill DSP.  I worked with them with my fingers to curl them up a bit (after fussy cutting) and then attached them all with dimensions.
So that's it for a pretty card in blue.  Hope you liked it.  In my next post and I'll share more blues, using a seashell theme instead of flowers.

More Strawberry Fun

Let's have some more fun with strawberries today.  These make such cheerful cards and projects.  Enjoy!

Using all DSP and a bit of ribbon, this card is not only cute, but quick and easy as well.

It's so much fun to make coordinating projects.

You could give all 3 projects to a lucky someone.  I'm sure they'd love it.

Come back soon for more fun projects!

Coordinated Strawberry Fun

I decorated a cute little treat box to coordinate with my strawberry gift bags using our Berry Delightful DSP. I punched a hole in one end and inserted a ribbon pull, to make it easier to pull it open. It's really fun to find treats and surprises to put inside that will coordinate with the papers. I was having so much fun creating that I didn't even notice that I had the strawberry upside down on the treat box. Oh well, some days are like that:)

I have one more project to coordinate with these, so come on back to check it out.

Berry Delightful Gift Bags

I made another set of gift bags.  These were for my February class kits.  I love the Berry Delightful DSP.  It's so bright and cheerful!

In my next couple of posts, I'll be sharing a gift box and a card that both coordinate with the gift bag.  This would make a great gift ensemble for a very special someone.  See you soon.
