Cardinal Card

Happy Day After Christmas Day!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.  We went to our daughter's and celebrated with her family and my son and his family.  It was just wonderful.
The best gift of all --- the blessings of being with family.
We're going to visit my In-Law's graves today and praise God for the blessings of all they taught us and meant to us.
Tomorrow, I will get back to eating properly and make plans for a healthy, happy New Year.

Now, for today's card ---

Here's another card from our last Scraps and Prayers class.  There's a special trick I used to bring out the details in the cardinal.
- Stamp the cardinal in Crumb Cake, using the Stamparatus.
- Color the cardinal using our Watercolor Pencils.
- Stamp the cardinal again in Soft Suede, using the Stamparatus.

All 3 pieces - the cardinal, the branch, and the banner, are cut out using dies.
I used the Stamparatus to stamp the message on the inside of the card.

Feels Like Frost Studio Displays

Being Christmas Eve and all, I thought today would be a good day to share some of my studio displays with you.  If you follow my blog, you'll know that I purchased an antique display cabinet/desk a while back and have been enjoying decorating it ever since.  It's perfect for showcasing some of my seasonal cards and projects.  Here's what I did for Christmas.
The basket contains just a few of the German Bells I made this season.  I'm happy to say that I probably made around a hundred of them and, to date, have shared them all!  It's so much fun to make something that you can share with others.  Spreading the joy ... that's what it's all about.

After Christmas, the new display will be so totally different, due to a bright new color story, you'll hardly recognize it.  I can't wait to share it with you!

It's All About the Sparkle and Shimmer

I have 2 cards for you today.  The first one makes good use of some of our Frosted Frames dies and the second one sparkles with a chunky glitter we call Ice Stampin' Glitter.  Enjoy!
Look very closely and you can see that I've spritzed the Basic Gray card layer with some of my Shimmer Mist.
This card was inspired by our Holiday Catalog.

It was impossible (for me, anyway) to get a clear shot with this close-up.  I just wanted you to see how very sparkly it is.

Treat Bag Gift Card Holder

Here's another project for you that you can make to use for giving a check, cash or gift card.  It starts with one of our treat bags.
The 'card' that slips into the gift bag pocket actually has a pocket of its own, so you can place your gift card, check, or cash in it.  The clip helps hold everything securely.
Who wouldn't want to get this for a gift? :)

A Fun Little Wreath for Your Candle

I have a quick and easy project for you today.  It's a little wreath on which you can set a battery-operated votive candle.  I have grandchildren around all the time, 2 active Cocker puppies and 1 big Border Collie ... with a BIG tail ... so I don't do real candles anymore, anywhere.
This project would look great at each person's place at the Christmas dinner table, or just scattered around your home as decorations.
Look closely and you can see that I added a circle of vellum on the back.  You rest your candle on this.
Look closely ... again ... and you can see I've used 3 layers, off-set, for my wreath.
Isn't it cute?  I hope you'll give this project a try.  It's a lot of fun!

Wrapped In Plaid Mini Pizza Box

It's so much fun to give little gifts to friends at this time of year.  I like to make up a lot of little treats to spread my giving throughout the season ... our grandchildren's school bus drivers, our grandchildren's teachers, our yard workers, our furry babies' groomer, our mail person, my hairdresser, neighbors ... the list is long and I keep thinking of more.
This little Mini Pizza Box can actually hold several fun chocolate treats.
