Crafting Forever, Card 1

When I first saw our new Crafting Forever stamp set, I knew it would be on my 'gotta have it' list.  I love the images and the sentiments are great, too.  My two favorites - "Crafting Forever! Housework Whenever.' and 'Do Something Creative Every Day.'  I pretty much do something creative every day.  It's just a part of my life.
I enjoyed using the scallop thinlit again from our Seasonal Layers thinlits.  I know it will be busy most of the time in my studio.  Scallops add such a nice touch to projects.
I watercolored the image on the front of my card, using my Aqua Painter and inks directly from my stamp pads.
I really like this Pick a Pattern DSP.  It's so bright and cheerful.  I find myself using it quite a bit lately.  In spite of the watercoloring and a lot of layers, this was still a pretty easy card to create.  I like it a lot.  In my next post, I'll share a second card using this same stamp set.
Don't forget:
I posted the winners from our party in my previous post.  If you haven't looked, be sure to check them out.  The prizes will be in your bags when you pick up your orders.  They're already on their way here from Utah!  Yay!!!  I'll let you know when they're here, sorted, prizes and surprises added, and ready for pick up.

NEWS FLASH:
At this point, it looks like I can hold all my classes before a surgery I'm having later in July.  My other surgery will be in August.  I will be able to have the August Scraps and Prayers class, but have to cancel the Saturday Stampers (for August 19).  I'm planning on teaching both classes in September and will keep you posted if I need more time to recover.  Be sure to keep checking my blog to get all the up to date news.
MORE GOOD NEWS:
By popular demand, I'm changing our August Scraps and Prayers project to sharing with you how to make my book box.  That was a huge hit at the party.  I look forward to sharing this!
More good news --- Several of the cards that people especially likes were the tri-shutter, the 'hugs' card and the front step card.  These will all be included in our July Saturday Stampers class!!!

BE SURE TO SIGN UP EARLY BECAUSE CLASS SIZES ARE LIMITED AND ARE FILLING UP FAST!!!

Hello, Blues and Greens

As I mentioned, I love how Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst play together.  Well, Lemon Lime Twist looks great playing with blues, too.  I wanted to use some fun stems and leaves and decided the stamp from our Jar of Love set would look great for the project I had in my head.  I love how it turned out.
If you look closely, you'll see some tiny details that truly add a lot to my card.
- a teeny, tiny sliver of Dapper Denim, along side the Lemon Lime Twist DSP
- a tiny bow with white Baker's Twine
- I added some very faint 'dots' in light blue
- Glitter Enamel Glitter Dots (They are the perfect touch for most any card!)
- a fancy banner to say 'Hello'  (I scored each end and folded it back, adding Stampin' Dimensionals under the middle of the banner, to hold it up a little
I used the same stem and leaves stamp for the inside of my card and for the envelope.
I added more depth and dimension to the leaves by stamping off for some of them.  It gives you layers of colors and shades of colors.
I've always loved blues and greens together.  This is one of my favorites!
Don't forget:
I posted the winners from our party in my previous post.  If you haven't looked, be sure to check them out.  The prizes will be in your bags when you pick up your orders.  They're already getting them ready to ship!!!  Yay!

Our Fun Projects from My Open House Party

One of the fun parts of an Open House Party is that my guests get to make several projects, to try out new projects and new ideas.  I most often use our note cards sets, because it saves time in my preparations and they make up into really cute projects.  Each project features new ideas and new products for my guests to try.
The first card is cut smaller in the front, so you can add a strip of DSP to the card and create a great accent.  It also features a new stamp set and using our new In Colors markers to color the flowers.
The second card features new In Colors CS, a new punch, new stamp set and a gorgeous new embossing folder.  It's one of our 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (TIEF) and it's the more gorgeous design we've ever had!  The leaves are layered over each other and it is just gorgeous.
I made a couple of versions, just to show other ideas for creating this little card.
The treat bag shows off some of our new DSP, 2 new punches, a new ribbon and a fun way to use a note card.  Instead of an envelope, it is tucked into the treat bag!  This would be a great way to include a little treat, a cash surprise, or a gift card.
I think everyone enjoyed the projects that I had for them and I could tell they had fun making them.
Don't forget:

A Beautiful Set of Cards ... My Favorites ... And Some Lucky Winners!

THIS POST HAS LOTS OF IMPORTANT INFO, SO BE SURE TO CHECK IT OUT, ALL THE WAY TO THE END.  I have a lot to share with you today, so let's jump right in with a beautiful set of In Colors cards.  Since my guests had to try to guess my favorite, I thought this set of cards would be a good choice to share today.
The designs are all the same, so here's a close-up of one of the colors.

I love the delicate details of these thinlits.  I guess that's why they named them Detailed Floral Thinlits:)

And now ... the time has come.  Today, I'll reveal all my favorites ... along with some lucky winners!!!  First of all, here are some clues for my favorite In Colors.  See if you can figure them out.

Did you figure it out?  Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist!!!  They were such a close tie, that I'm letting all those who guessed either one to be a winner.  Some days, my favorite is Berry Burst and some days, my favorite is Lemon Lime Twist.  Mostly, I love how they play together.  I love all the In Colors, but these two make my heart sing.

Now, an even more difficult decision for me was choosing a favorite new stamp set.  I loved several that were just stinkin' cute.  The more artistic/nature related sets always speak to me.  Two sets stand out above all the others, and I'd say they were a close tie with me, also.  My favorites:  Colorful Seasons and Oh So Eclectic.  My favorite accessories were their coordinating thinlits... Seasonal Layers Thinlits and Eclectic Layers Thinlits.  These stamps and thinlits are very versatile and beg for your creativity to just flow into your projects.  I really love them and feel like I've just barely started exploring the possibilities of how you can use them.

I also had the furry babies help me choose 2 door prize winners for the party.  Here's a list of all the lucky winners, along with their choices.

Berry Burst --
 Nancy S.
 Alicia W.
Lemon Lime Twist --
 Jessica B.
 Linda B.
 Cherie L.
Colorful Seasons --
 no correct guesses
Oh So Eclectic --
 Dana B.
Favorite Accessories (coordinating thinlits for both sets) --
 no correct guesses
2 Door Prizes --
 Marsha W.
 Elaine B.

Wow!  That's a nice list of lucky winners.  I truly loved our time together at the party.  I loved that we could spend some time visiting together and talking and sharing about art and the fun of creating it.  I appreciate your support of my business, your enthusiasm for my cards and projects.  You inspire me to keep creating and I hope you'll sign up for more of my classes, to enjoy creating with me.

At this point, it looks like I can hold all my classes before a surgery I'm having later in July.  My other surgery will be in August.  I will be able to have the Scraps and Prayers class, but had to cancel the Saturday Stampers (for August 19).  I'm planning on teaching both classes in September and will keep you posted if I need more time to recover.  Be sure to keep checking my blog to get all the up to date news.

What a Fun Party We Had Sunday ... and Another Daisy Card For You

The very best thing about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is getting to form close friendships with those who come to share in being creative with me.  We all have a creativity within us and a favorite part of my job is showing someone how to find and unleash that creativity.  We had a great party yesterday and I loved every minute of it.  Now, with our Garage Sale and Open House behind me, it's back to my studio to create more fun cards and projects ... not to mention spending extra time with my grandbabies.
I have a few more orders coming in and will be closing the workshop order by the end of the day Monday (June 26), so if you're planning on ordering with us, time is running out.  Once the order is placed, I will announce the winners of my little guessing game and reveal my favorite new In Color, favorite new stamp set and favorite new accessory.
In the meantime, I have another beautiful daisy card for you.  This paper is gorgeous!  I almost hesitated to cut into it.
I kept the design very simple, to let the papers be the star of the show.

Soft Sayings Card Kit

I am getting so excited to have my Open House/New Catalog Party Sunday afternoon.  I've been working on this for over 2 months now and everything on display is brand new!  Wow!  Talk about fun!!!  I've made lots of various vignettes, to give a little look at a specific DSP and/or stamp set.  One of the first projects I made was this Soft Sayings Card Kit.  As you may know, I don't usually enjoy card kits.  I like to take a card I like and challenge myself to create my own version of it OR, better yet, just design from scratch, with color and images in mind.  Often, a kit can smother my creativity.  But ... this one was really great.  It was fun, quick and easy and I got an entire display out of it, plus duplicates to add to my 'stash' for sending as needed.  Love it!
Here's what you can make with the kit:
- 4 regular sized (A1) cards, with coordinating envelopes --- 2 each.
- 4 note card sized cards and envelopes (These are mailing size.) --- 2 each.
- 2 darling little gift card enclosure cards --- 2 each.
All the embellishments you see are a part of the kit.  The stamping was done with the coordinating stamps set --- which I can now use for other cards and projects.  I love the soft watercolor look of these.  Yes, with kits like these, I'll try them again.

Playing With Polka Dots and a Big and Happy Welcome to my Newest Recruit, Nola

Before I share my fun card for today, I want to shout out a big welcome to my newest recruit, Nola.  Welcome, Nola!  I'm so glad to have you as part of my Inkin' in the Land of Lincoln Team.  Even though she no longer lives in Illinois, she did when I first met her and I've enjoyed staying in touch with her.   One of the very nicest things about creating art to share is that so many of my customers become dearly loved friends.  What a joy!
Give me some dots and speckles, in assorted sizes, and I can come up with a bunch of fun projects.  The new Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist look so beautiful together, that this just shouts out to be a fun and cheerful card.
I grabbed a sponge applicator to apply the largest polka dots, stamping off to get lighter shades of color.  The Berry Burst smaller polka dot is from our Work of Art stamp set, along with the text.
I needed the tiny speckles to really make it all come together, so I reached for one of my 'go to' stamp sets --- Awesomely Artistic.  I love and adore this stamp set.
I love this card!  It is so bright and cheerful, mainly due to how very well our Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst colors play together.  Adding the leaf sprig and flower (both die cuts) make a nice focal piece for my card.
This could be used for a note to say hello, a thank you, a birthday ...

Time is now running out for me to choose my favorite new stamp set, favorite new In Color, and favorite new accessory.  My guests at my Open House will be trying to guess.  The winners will be announced the day after my party.  These are tough decisions this year because I love all our In Colors and I love tons of our new stamp sets and accessories.  I might have to have some help.  Toby Joe, Buster Bo Jangles, Lilly Belle --- help me decide!!!
Maybe Joey can help me.  He seems to be quite into helping me keep my studio organized and functioning.  I did have to tell him that I did NOT buy my cute little Raskog cart so he could remove my carefully organized new art accessories and start putting his toys in it.  He is a busy boy and I love him to pieces!

Another Set of In Colors Cards

How about another set of In Colors cards ... in a beautiful design?  I love these.
These are designed to be used to drop a quick note to a friend and send a whole lot of happy ... right in their mail.  All the cards are the same design.  I just changed the colors.
I stamped the flowers to look as though they were sprinkled across the card and then I embossed them with white EP.
I stamped and embossed the daisies, also and then added a clear glitter 'gem' to the center of each.  I felt it needed a little something else to bring out the daisy, so I punched some of our new label shapes, using watercolor paper, painted a little background over them and added them to my cards.
