Sneak Peek --- Friday 3-4-5

I'm so excited to have all my cards finished for this Friday's 3-4-5 Card Buffet class!  I made 10 brand new designs this time!!!  Here's a little sneak peek:
This card was made with one of our single stamps.  It's really a big stamp!  I love it.  I used a flower from Fabulous Florets to stamp a coordinating envelope.
The class includes envelopes for all the cards.

I'm off to work in my studio all day.  I'm nearly finished with all the card kits I'm making for those with qualifying orders during our Free Shipping promotion.  I figure that I made over 37 cards yesterday, amongst other things.  I should be able to finish all the kits today and then I can spend tomorrow making some new goodies for my Prairie Treasure booth at the Root Cellar.  Life is good!

Have a great day.  I hope you get to stamp something.

Oh, and one more thing --- Stampin' Up! has another new photopolymer stamp set, a birthday one.  It's the bomb!  Tee hee hee!

A Card to Quack You Up

Continuing with another card using Birds of A Feather DSP, today's card will 'quack' you up a bit.  This would be a cute baby card or just a hello card, if you left off the 'for baby' sentiment.
Notice that I've stamped and colored an image onto the envelope to coordinate with the card.
I've added a quick layer of elegance by adding a strip of our Delicate Details Lace Tape.  This is really fun (and easy) to use as it is adhesive backed and you can easily position it to where you'd like it to be on your project.
I decided to use two little knotted bows of ribbon to accent my card.  One of the ladies at my class needed a baby card for someone who had just had twins - a boy and a girl - so we used a pink and a blue knotted ribbon on her card.

I'm resting a bunch, recovering from my 'mis-step' Friday, so that's it for today.  Enjoy your day.

For the Birds --- A Cute Little Spring Card

Today, I have a post that is strictly For the Birds!  It sums of my week and this card.  The card is one we made at my Friday 3-4-5 Card Buffet last night.
I chose the colors from the Birds of a Feather DSP to plan my card and chose Summer Starfruit and Raspberry Ripple for my CS, with a sprig of coordinating Raspberry Ripple stitched ribbon to accent the focal piece.
The images on the focal piece are 'painted' with the coordinating ink colors, using an Aqua Painter.  After stamping 2 more birds and punching them out with a scallop circle punch, I sponged around the edges of the focal piece. This gives added texture and interest.

I did not add a text on the front of the card.  I frequently do this whenever I have a card that can be used for several possible occasions.   That way, it's ready to go when I need it and I can stamp or write the needed message on the inside of the card before sending it.

So, that's my card.  As for my week, it seems to also have been for the birds.

I spent / wasted a lot of time on technology wars.  I won some, lost some and some are still raging on.  On Friday (yesterday), I finished off my week by having an enjoyable lunch with my daughter down at the Wildflour.

After lunch, we decided to go look around one of our local stores.  It's in a very old building with several areas being at different levels that are joined together by steps.  The steps all have warning signs to 'Watch your Step' but I still managed to go flying off one of them and literally hitting the floor of the next level with a running step.  It was either that or fall flat on my face.

Why can't I look where I'm going?!!!  Anyway, I could feel myself getting increasingly sore as my class went on last night.  This morning, as I feared, I'm so very sore and literally in a world of pain.  I know it hurt my hips (fake hardware and all) but it absolutely killed my back to step down so hard like that.

I guess I'll be taking it easy for the rest of the weekend AND trying harder to watch where I'm going!  Next posts:  expect more Spring cards because, as you know, I'm dying for Spring here!!!  Hope your weekend goes well.

Don't forget to reset your clocks tonight!

A Cute Little Note Card for Spring and Some Coloring Tips

Today, let's enjoy a touch of Spring, with a cute little note card.  The temperatures are supposed to go up this weekend, so this will really get us looking forward to Spring.

This card will be one of the choices at my next Friday 3-4-5 Card Buffet.  I got carried away this time and, instead of 12 choices, you'll have 14 choices.  Cards left over after the class will be available for the next Walk-In Wednesday (March 27).

And now --- a touch of Easter spells Spring, for sure!
The patterns of eggs in the DSP inspired me to pull out the Everybunny stamp set, so I could use this adorable little bunny.

The colors in the DSP help do all the planning for you --- ribbon, ink colors --- all made simple.
As you know, I love to coordinate the envelope with the card, so I stamped this same little bunny onto the envelope.

I've used one of my favorite tools for coloring for this card --- the Aqua Painter.  I did not even take the time or trouble to squeeze the ink pad and make a puddle of color (in the lid) for painting my images, although you certainly could do so.

What I did was even quicker and easier AND helps to keep you from getting too much liquid on your brush tips.  I squeezed my Aqua Painter just enough to get the brush tip damp.  You do NOT want too much water on your brush tip!  Then, I just stroked directly over the ink pad to pick up the color for my painting.  The more color you pick up, the darker your image will be.

NOTE:
  • Do you see that the image on the envelope is slightly darker than the image on the card?  To do this, I just picked up more color.
  • As with all watercolor painting, your image will always dry slightly lighter.
  • By controlling where you apply your color, you can add beautiful and subtle shading to your images.
  • Because I'm not getting my images too wet, I used regular Whisper White CS and stamped with Basic Gray ink.
  • If you want your coloring to be wetter, use Shimmery White CS or watercolor paper and stamp your images with StazOn ink.
My finishing touches:
  • a sprig of ribbon, in a knotted bow
  • sponging around the punched pieces
  • attaching the punched pieces with dimensionals
I hope every bunny enjoyed my card today:)  Now, go stamp something ...  and have a great weekend!

A Cute Little Card

Today's card has no stamping, except for a message on the inside.  It's cute because its focus is on the design in the DSP and the complimentary buttons.

Today's card features buttons from our Sale-A-Bration Ribbons and Buttons Pack.  The DSP is from the Birds of a Feather Designer Series Papers.  This will be one of the cards at my next Friday 3-4-5 Card Buffet and Walk-In Wednesday events.  Each card will be a little unique from all the others because of the positioning of the birds in the DSP design.
I used our new Cloudy Day embossing folder to emboss the flap on the envelope.  You could
certainly add more ideas to make your card unique for you, but I just like the simplicity of this one.
That's it for today's post.  Time for me to go work in my Prairie Treasures Booth for a while and then come home and work in my studio.  Time for YOU to go get busy on some stamping of your own.  Don't have much time?  Try a cute little card like this one and you'll be smiling all day.
