5 Days of Emerald Envy, Day Four

Today's card is one of my all-time favorites because of the special technique I used on it.  It started out as a disaster, because I used a product that didn't work for me.  I knew I was on the right track though, to create the design that was in my head, so I started over and got it to work.
I had read about this Frog Tape for delicate surfaces, and wanted to try it for this technique ... for my masking.  It was too strong and tore up my card.  I started over and used my old stand-by fav - Post-It notes - for my masking.  I'll play around with the tape another day and see if it would work for watercoloring.
This background involves just sponging on 2 or 3 shades of inks smoothly - over a masked off strip on your card front.  Once it dried, I stamped the images over it.  I love the results and will continue to play with this fun technique.  It turns out a little differently each time you do it.
I have one last post for Emerald Envy, so be sure to come back to see it.
